Angels Among Us

A While back my wife and I were attending a Christian conference. There were approximately 2000 people in attendance. We had been engaged in an extended time of corporate worship. Without any prompting from the worship team, the entire crowd suddenly became mysteriously quiet. It seemed an invisible conductor had cued the crowd and worship team to an abrupt pause in the heavenly flow of praise ascending to God’s throne.
I was standing with my arms lifted up to heaven, my eyes looking up toward the ceiling and my heart caught up in the heavens. Suddenly, I saw two very large angels swoop down through the ceiling and over the crowd of people. As they did, the entire auditorium of people erupted in loud spontaneous praise. The atmosphere was electric with the manifested presence of God.
Angels dwell in God’s presence and can carry that presence and heavenly atmosphere with them wherever they go. These angels of His presence had come to us, and whether or not all the people saw the angels, most, if not all, felt the presence they carried.
“And the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity (compassion) he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.” - Isa. 63:9
Recently, my heart has been stirred concerning the ministry of angels among us. I believe we are in a time of accelerated angelic activity. God is sending angels on assignments, in answer to the prayers of His people. Angels are ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for the saints.
“Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.” – Heb. 1:14 NLT
God had a purpose in creating angels. Serving and caring for people is a part of that purpose. We can ask God for the assistance of angels and expect their presence and activity in our lives. Jesus Christ, the Son of God believed He could ask His Father to send angels to help. We as son’s of God can follow His example.
“Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?” - Matthew 26:53
As sons and daughters of God we have been given allies, angels, to help us fulfill God’s will for our lives. Angels are among us and at times we are not even aware of their presence.
“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” – Hebrews 13:2
We are not alone and do not need to live our lives without the supernatural assistance of the angelic realm. I wonder how many of us have unemployed angels sitting around, waiting for us to ask the Father to send them to our aid.
Ask the Father to send angels to minister for you. Ask and you shall receive. As citizens of heaven and children of God, you have come to countless thousands of angels. They do His word, heed the voice of His word and do His pleasure. Why not give voice to His word and they will heed it?
As we speak forth Spirit inspired words, angels are sent forth to facilitate the fulfillment of God’s word through our mouths.
“No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.” - Hebrews 12:22
“Bless the Lord, you His angels,Who excel in strength, who do His word,Heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.” – Psalms 103:20-21
